Caterpillar Stage
This is the earlier learner stage. These learners are usually new to ABA and have no previous services to assist with behavior management. Challenging behaviors are usually severe due to the lack of communication skills. These learners will require more intensive comprehensive support.
Cocoon Stage
This is the intermediate learner stage. These learners can also be new to ABA, however their challenging behaviors may not be as severe. Challenging behaviors range from moderate to severe due to communicative needs. These learners will require more intensive comprehensive support that will gradually fade into focused support.
Butterfly Stage
This is the advance learner stage. These learners can also be new to ABA with no experience with behavior management or have aged out of ABA centers. Challenging behaviors are usually low to moderate due to lack of social skills. These learners will require more focused support.
